The One About the Glue Pad

I've had a couple questions about the Tsukineko Essential Glue Pad. First off... Yes, I absolutely LOVE it! I originally bought the Palette Glue pad, but I never got it to work and was extremely hesitant to fork over my money for another pad. However, I had a chance to test it out when I went to Lila's a couple weeks ago and I was HOOKED! Now I have my very own!

Someone also asked if there is a trick to making the glitter stay on. Well, I don't know if it's a trick, but I just make sure my pad is good and gluey (the pad is packaged uninked, so give it a good coat) and then stamp the image. I immediately dump my glitter on and then tamp it down a little, so it gets a chance to adhere. Then I just tap off all the excess and dust lightly with a paintbrush to get the strays off. The technique does show up best if you stamp an image in color first and then overstamp with the glue before glittering.

I made today's card using Cindy's sketch from a couple weeks back, only I was doing it from memory, so it isn't quite the same layout. I guess it's close enough that you can still see the inspiration, though. I used the Polka Dots & Paisley set Shannan is letting me borrow (Thanks, L'il Sis!) and more of the Daisy D Spring Blossom paper. Images are stamped with Ancient Page Coal Black and overstamped with Tsukineko Glue Pad and sprinkled with Dazzling Diamonds. Matting is Basic Black card stock. I added some dots to each corner with my Sakura Black Glaze pen, some American Crafts Elements brads and some May Arts pink polka dot ribbon.
