Another Peek

Today I did another quick card (15 minutes, yay!) for the SCS Ways To Use It challenge. The challenge was to use small stamps (1.5" square and smaller) to make a card. I ordered this Lovebirds stamp from The Cat's Pajamas quite a while ago, but for some reason don't think I've made a card with it. I just love this image and all the bird cards I've been seeing lately made me think I should pull it out, dust it off and get stamping! The Ring of Flowers stamp is from the new Cat's Pajamas Summer line, which is already making its way into retail stores. So if you have a store near you that sells The Cat's Pajamas head on over! Otherwise, it's just a little longer to wait before they are available on the website. If you need another CPJ fix, stroll on over to Alma's blog (Creative Cat for The Cat's Pajamas) and Toni's blog (fellow Design Team Member) to check out their sneak peeks.

I had intended on doing Colleen's Thursday Throwdown Challenge to use just black and white, but on my way to find my fave Chatterbox black & white DP I ran across my neglected pack of Au Chocolat. I just HAD to have this paper, and now it's just been sitting there unused for months! So, sorry Colleen, I decided to go with just Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla. After all brown IS the new black, don't ya know? LOL!

I stamped the Lovebirds {D-4205} stamp and the Ring of Flowers {E-7462} stamp in Chocolate Chip and cut out with my Creative Memories Circle Cutting system and matted on Chocolate Chip card stock. Next I punched out a Mega and a Giga scallop circle from the Au Chocolat paper, pierced holes in the scallops and matted using alternating sides of the patterned paper. I then cut a 4" square and a 3.75" square, glued together using alternating sides, tied a piece of chocolate grosgrain around it and matted on a 4.25" square Very Vanilla card base. Some thick foam squares under the scalloped circle panel and a little Stardust Stickles on the flowers and hearts finished off this cute little number.
