Double Take

Today I'm featuring two cards I made for my secret sisters. Sometimes I like to take the same exact design and change the colors and a few minor details to see how different a look I can achieve. I just love how these cards turned out.

The first card uses the Hello Chick stamp by Stampendous and the Thinking of You stamp from Hero Arts. The patterned paper is Basic Grey Perhaps. I began by stamping the chick on Pearlized White paper and coloring with prismacolors and mineral spirits. Next I outlined the entire image with a clear stardust pen. I cut out the image with my Creative Memories Cutting system and matted on basic black, then a Giga Scalloped Oval punch and another basic black oval. I stamped Thinking of You in black Stazon directly on the patterned paper and sanded a little before mounting on a piece of basic black. I made the scallop edge with my mini scallop decorative scissors. I finished the card off with a couple pierced photo corner punches, some Forever Flowers and a clear rhinestone flower from JoAnn's $1 bin.

The second card uses Stampin Up Spring Showers designer paper, which I inked up with my Chocolate Chip ink pad. The photo corners and card base are Barely Banana and I stamped the Thinking of You sentiment with Craft Very Vanilla Ink and added a little sparkle to the flowers and around the scalloped oval. I really like how these two very similar cards turned out so different just by changing the colors.

I can't believe I'm almost at 15,000 hits already. There's still time to enter my card contest, but you better hurry!

Great cards. I'm going to have to try that this week on some cards. It is fun to see how your change of colors etc...made the two similiar cards different. Ida
