The Good Life

Tonight I just sat down and did some stamping for the fun of it. It was kind of fun to stamp without an agenda for once. I saw these stamps in the dollar bin at Michael's a few weeks back and knew I just HAD to have them. My dream vacation has always been to rent a beach house and spend an entire month (well, actually an entire summer, but I'm trying to be realistic! LOL!) living on the beach. The good life seems the perfect phrase to go with that dream.

I started once again with my Stella Ruby Basic Grey paper. I just absolutely LOVE it - it's such a versatile line! I like to find ways to use the paper as part of the picture I'm trying to paint. In this case I chose to stamp the palm tree on striped paper, so it looks like it's in the sunset on a sandy hill. I then colored it in with Stampin Write Markers and covered with Crystal Effects and sprinkled with a slight dusting of Dazzling Diamonds. I also stamped The Good Life stamp in black Stazon on the striped paper and filled in with Icicle Stickles. All edges are lightly sanded with a Making Memories sanding file (looks a lot like a nail file!). I added a little hemp to finish off. Are you ready to hit the beach now?
